Mental Health Juvenile Justice (MHJJ)
The mission of NYAP Mental Health Juvenile Justice (MHJJ) program is to provide a unique and innovative option for youth to be successful and productive members of their family and community. This program works holistically with the youth’s family while identifying and resolving barriers and challenges. We take a collaborative approach to ensure that communication is strong, strengths are identified, and successes are celebrated.
The Process
The Mental Health Liaison contacts the family referred within 24 hours of referral received.
The MHJJ Liaison schedules an in-person visit (Family Team Meeting), where they screen and assess the youth and family to determine best course of care coordination.
The Case Manager is dedicated to the coordination delivery of care for the youth and family, both through internal and external services and referrals.
