Youth Elements (LWIA-5)
The goal of NYAP’s Youth Elements program is to assist youth ages 16 to 24 with obtaining and sustaining employment by providing behavioral health services and mentor job coaching services. Services are provided to youth engaged in Region 5’s Workforce Development programming through Kendall County, Kane County and DeKalb County.
As NYAP seeks to further empower our youth to become strong and productive members of their communities, Youth Elements offers a path towards vocational excellence that will provide structure, goals and overall excitement for each teen’s employment.
Program Structure:
Youth attend therapy session weekly to develop and improve social and emotional skills.
Youth participate in mentoring sessions weekly to develop interpersonal skills and independent living skills.
Together with their families, youth participate in Child and Family Team Meetings monthly to monitor successes and goals within the home.
