Home Study / Post Release Services

The Home Study and Post Release Services (HS/PRS) program is designed to offer ongoing support to help ensure the long-term safety and well-being of unaccompanied children and youth to ensure a successful and enduring transition to a family member or other sponsor.

NYAP employs a bilingual team of case managers and clinicians to provide the following services:

  • Home study assessment of potential sponsors’ homes to ensure safety and well-being prior to placing a child or youth.

  • Linkage to services such as medical, advocacy, legal, and other community resources.

  • Counseling and coaching to children and youth who are gang or substance involved.

  • Therapeutic services to assist with trauma, other mental health conditions, and family stabilization.

  • Navigation of the educational system including advocacy and navigating English as a second language.

  • Application and linkage to Trafficking Victim Assistance Programs (TVAP) as applicable.

  • Respond to emergent situations and other needs.
