  • Case management.

  • Psychiatric and nursing services.

  • Educational advocacy.

Princeton ESL Counseling Summer Groups

NYAP offers bilingual (Spanish/English) therapeutic services for English Language Learner (EL) students. We use a Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapeutic modality, providing opportunities to ease trauma that may have occurred with the student.

Whether born in the United States or immigrated from their home country, the students' parents are heavily involved in their child or youth therapy with our bilingual staff and program curriculum.

Students identified during the summer groups as needing more intensive therapy or support will be offered those services through NYAP’s contract for school year services with the school district as available.

Due to the significant need for the large population of Latino and Hispanic students in the district, this program has expanded to provide programming during the summer session of school in addition to the previous school year services.

Summer Group Structure:
4 unique 1-hour sessions broken up by school held in the community, focusing on social and emotional learning.

Summer Group Outcomes:
Children and youth in the summer program will learn to identify and communicate their feelings and emotions, model appropriate behaviors, learn and implement several coping skills to help classroom behavior, as well as improve social skills, self-advocacy and self-esteem.
